Biography:
Jack Dorsey got involved in web development while he was a student, which led to him finding Twitter m in 2016. Since 2016, Dorsey served as the chairman of the board, executive chairman of the boards, and also the CEO. In 2010, Dorsey commenced the online payment platform, Square.
While he was young, he was very much attracted to communication and computers, and his journey began as he started programming while he was still a student at DuBourg High School. He was intrigued by the issue of organizing delivery vans, taxi drivers, and other vehicles that needed to stay in communication. When he clocked 15, he wrote a dispatch software that stayed in use by taxicab companies for a very long period.
Dorsey, alongside a few people, started a new company known as Obvious, which later became Twitter. In 2 weeks, Dorsey built a simple site where users could easily drop short messages of about 140 characters or less.
As of 2010, Twitter had over 105 million users who tweeted 55million times daily. Dorsey also focused on other projects like he became an investor in a networking company, and he launched a new venture named Square.
Dorsey returned to Twitter in 2015, where he first served as a temporary CEO before he now became the CEO.
Dorsey contributed to the change initiative in October 2019 by financing the planting of 150,000 trees and he also donated $1 billion to support COVID 19 relief around the world.
