Biography:
In 2013, Jihan Wu joined forces with Micree Zhan and founded bitmain, which is now one of the largest bitcoin mining firms today. Before that, Jihan wu was the first individual that translated the bitcoin white paper into mandarin. In 2011, he had to seek money from his friends and even family members to buy 900 bitcoins. This is evidence that when bitcoin was newly launched, he was part of the early adopters. Jihan wu has been serving as the CEO of bitmain not until late 2018 when he stepped down and founded a firm known as matrix port. He founded this firm with the sole purpose of providing financial services that are related to cryptocurrency.
However, he resumed back as bitmain CEO late last year due to a shakeup he had with his co-founder Wicruu Zhan. The CEO position shift at bitmain that took place between 2018 and 2019 has caused some setbacks for the firm. Such setbacks include the company’s struggle to get recognized worldwide and even termination of employment for some employees. The cryptocurrency exchange industry is hopeful that Jihan wu, which is currently the CEO of bitmain, is going to help the firm make waves in the industry this year.
