Biography:
Joseph Lubin was a wall street technologist and a music management executive. Ever since he stepped his feed into the cryptocurrency exchange industry, he has become a top influencer in the industry. He started as a co-founder of Ethereum. He was precisely the Chief Operating Officer. Afterward, he founded his start-up incubator called Consensys. Consensys comprises of several projects network and team building applications. They are all aimed towards the Ethereum blockchain network.
It was a downside year for Consensys towards the end of 2018 as they lay off an estimated 16% of their employees. When 2019 came, the year for Consensys was focused on spinning out projects. It was therefore not surprising when Joseph Lubin announced in September of that year that the firm was collaborating with Hyperledger to work towards one of Hyperledger consortium projects. The project was centered on getting interoperable solutions and bridges between the Hyperledger permission blockchains and the Ethereum blockchains.
Joseph Lubin criticized the Libra and called it a centralized wolf in decentralized sheep clothing when the cryptocurrency community became abuzz around the Facebook Libra reveal. Meanwhile, in November 2019, when China made mention of their central bank digital currency, Lubin welcomed the idea and hoped that the design of the new currency would allow it to interoperate with existing open blockchains like the Ethereum.
The cryptocurrency industry is expecting much from Lubin and Consensys this year. The community expects the firm to concentrate more on giving funds and contributions to the infrastructure and the protocol development of the firm. The community is also looking forward to Consensy’s work towards securing a strategic partnership with those centered on the development of Enterprise blockchains.
