It looks crazy to me. If, as a company, you lacked a crypto story in 2019.
Biography:
Tyler Winklevoss was an accomplished rower before he became an entrepreneur and co-founded the Gemini with his twin brother, Cameron Winklevoss. The duo initially created the social media platform ConnectU while they were at the University of Harvard. They would later claim that their idea was stolen by Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook founder. Tyler co-founded Gemini and Winklevoss capital management with his brother.
The book titled Accidental Billionaire written by Ben Mezrich, contains well detailed information about Tyler Winklevoss and his twin brother’s journey into the cryptocurrency space. The book was the bedrock for the movie titled the social network that was filmed. Tyler and his brother brought to book Charlie Shrem, the Bitcoin entrepreneur accusing him of robbing them of 5000 BTC to fund his lavish lifestyle. Shrem has been denying the allegation ever since 2012; however, he was able to reach an agreement with the brothers in April 2019.
The industry is full of high expectations from Tyler Winklevoss and his twin brother as they were able to successfully launch a reporting pilot for cryptocurrency holdings under custody that is in collaboration with the financial services firm, State Street cooperation in December 2019. Such similar programs and partnerships are being expected from Gemini in subsequent months.
